Carre's Grammar School Outreach Programme
Inspiring Active, Healthy Futures
The Carre’s Grammar School Outreach Programme began in 2004 as part of our Specialist Sports College status. Since then, it has grown into a thriving network of schools, communities and partners, working together to create positive opportunities for children and young people.
Our Mission
Through collaboration with local communities, schools and national partners, we aim to empower schools and families to create inspired, active and healthy futures for every child.
We support schools and young people through a wide range of opportunities, including:
- PE and Sport Adviser Support – expert guidance to help schools develop and enhance their PE and sport provision.
- Physical Literacy Coaching – helping children develop the confidence, skills and enjoyment they need to be active throughout life.
- Weekly Events and Competitions – providing regular opportunities for children to participate, compete and celebrate their achievements.
- PE Profiling – supporting schools to identify strengths, areas for development and opportunities to improve provision.
- Extra-Curricular Clubs – offering engaging activities that encourage children to discover new interests and stay active.
Our dedicated team delivers high-quality, curriculum-based PE lessons, targeted interventions, leadership development and programmes tailored to meet the needs of every child.
We also provide inclusive holiday camps, ensuring that children and young people have opportunities to stay active, develop new skills and have fun beyond the school day.
The Impact
Our outreach programme continues to make a positive difference across our network of schools and communities.
Each year, we deliver:
- 40+ sporting events, including competitive opportunities, try-it sessions and Change4Life activities.
- Opportunities for every level of ability, from county finals and competitive events to taster sessions designed to engage some of our least active young people.
- Support for schools working towards School Games Mark awards, with many schools achieving the prestigious Gold standard.
- New sports and activities, giving children the chance to discover something different and find activities they enjoy.
- A positive contribution to children’s health and wellbeing, helping young people develop active lifestyles, confidence and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
